WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS AND REGISTRATION

Post Trauma Growth: Learning to Live with Your Mind and Body's Reactions to Traumatic Events

This workshop is designed for Veterans who have experienced difficulties or challenges in their personal or professional lives as a result of trauma or "moral injury" associated with their service to our Nation's defense.

This highly experiential learning opportunity focuses on developing skills to: (1) Find and experience Acceptance outside of a military or deployed environment; (2) Establish, maintain, recognize, and respect your own and other's Boundaries, focusing on pro-social behaviors; and (3) Explore Connection in safe and supported surroundings.

This experiential Equine Facilitated Learning workshop is offered over two days, September 21 and 22, 2024 starting at 10am each morning and ending at 5pm each afternoon. The workshop is being hosted by a private equine facility located in Bangor, Wisconsin. Registration fees include one 30-minute follow-on coaching session delivered via Zoom within 30 days of completing the workshop.

  • This is not therapy.
  • This is not counseling.
  • This is about learning life skills to serve you going forward.

The content of this workshop is based on the research and writing of Linda Kohanov (The Power of the Herd, The Tao of Equus, The Five Roles of the Master Herder) and her Eponaquest Method as well as the work of Virginia Cruse, a U.S. Army combat veteran and licensed professional counselor specializing in military issues and combat-related trauma. Workshop participants will receive a copy of Virginia's book "The Soldier's Guide to PTSD: How to No-Sh*t Reclaim Your Life."

NO PREVIOUS HORSE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

This is a ground-work focused workshop, meaning there is NO RIDING and no expectation of being off the ground at all.

Travel instructions, directions, and specific information related to the facility and workshop will be provided upon registration.

Participation is limited to eight people to ensure each participant is afforded the opportunity to fully engage with the material and have ample time with the horses. Cost for the two-day workshop (including the follow-on coaching session) is $250.00 per person. Follow the link below to register and pay.
