Robert Wysocki is a Service-Disabled Veteran with more than 15 years of active duty in the U. S. Marine Corps. His service as a counterintelligence specialist in Southwest Asia, the Pacific Region, and Caribbean left Robert with multiple injuries, both visible and invisible. After several years of self-medicating with alcohol and other addictions, he attended an introduction to Therapeutic Horsemanship for Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), where he fell in love with the idea of leading, learning, and healing with horses. He has spent hundreds of hours learning from and apprenticing under experienced coaches, therapists, and horsemen and women, including Linda Kohanov, founder of Eponaquest and author of The Five Roles of a Master Herder, The Power of the Herd, and several other books about horse assisted education; Alyssa Aubrey of Medicine Horse Ranch and founder of HorseDream USA; Lisa Murrell, who offers the only ICF Accredited Equine Assisted Coaching program; and Brent Graef, expert trainer, Natural Horsemanship clinician, and colt starter.
After leaving active duty, Robert began working as a professional trainer, focusing on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and management skills of intelligence professionals employed by various United States government agencies. He also served as a senior manager and executive for some of these same government agencies, as well as the contracting organizations that support them. His more than two decades spent "in the wilderness" of public and private industry provide a rich experience base and unlimited opportunities to continue developing his own understanding of how people learn, how they think, how decisions are made, and how individuals and organizations attempt to translate decisions into actions.
